Community Swim

Waterbabies is pleased to introduce Community Swims to area families with young swimmers!

You’re Invited!

If you have children under 8 years old, we want to see you Saturday, September 14 at 6-7pm, for open swimming! These afternoons are free and open to all families in the area, whether enrolled in lessons at Waterbabies or not! We hope that providing a safe environment for family play and bonding will help to enrich the community around us.

Community Swim is only offered at the Renton Waterbabies Aquatic Center:
17110 116th Ave SE, Suite D, Renton, 98056

Community Giving

We want to give back to the kids and families who surround and support us in more ways than one. To help support our mission, we ask that you bring a small donation of non-perishable food items or new, unworn socks in exchange for your time in the pool. All contributions will be donated to an area food bank, service center, or family shelter.

•  Open to kids 8 years old and younger, accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
•  Children must either wear a life vest (provided) or pass our swim test to swim unaccompanied in the water.
•  Children under 18 years of age or under 54 inches tall (4.5 feet, the depth of our pool) who cannot pass the swim test must be directly supervised by an adult who is in the water and within an arm’s length at all times.

Swim Test

In order to swim without supervision, a young swimmer must be able to:

1. Swim half the length of the big pool without goggles or flotation assistance, turn around without touching the wall or bottom of the pool, and then swim back. (Swimmer must be face-down in the water, not on their back.)

2. Tread water for 30 seconds without touching bottom. Nose and mouth must stay out of the water.

A Waterbabies staff member will oversee the test.
